The Villarreal B head coach has underlined the need to beat Real Murcia (Sunday, 5:30pm CEST)
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez spoke to the media ahead of the match against Real Murcia, corresponding to Matchday 34 of the 2024/25 Primera RFEF season, which will kick off this Sunday at 5:30pm CEST at the Estadio Enrique Roca.
“We need to win. We have to prepare well for the match in order to win. To do so, we’ll have to show a high level. It will be very difficult. We’re expecting a packed stadium. They have a great team and a high level. It’s a match to be motivated for. These are the games that motivate the boys the most,” said the coach when asked about the game.
With regard to the match’s venue, with a capacity unbefitting of the level, Miguel Álvarez praised that this type of pitch is a stimulus: “The boys do well on these pitches. It’s a great stage and a pitch where you can play one on one against your rivals. We’ve played great games away from home on pitches against teams like Recreativo and Hércules. These grounds motivate us.”
The Mini Submarine’s head coach is focused on hard work: “We don’t do the maths. Every week we have to work. We face the situation we’re in naturally. We have to work efficiently and perform well so that we don’t make life difficult for ourselves.”
In the same way, he has recognised that the team has made youthful mistakes, although he points out that it is a situation that must be overcome: “Nothing that can’t be fixed and that happens in all the youth teams. It’s complicated with young players. They don’t have as much experience as other teams. This squad is young and that’s something that happens to all youth teams.”
