The Villarreal CF Manager, Fran Escribá, is optimistic ahead of the Sevilla match (Sunday, 12pm CET)
At today’s press conference, the Villarreal CF Manager, Fran Escribá, talked about the upcoming match against Sevilla FC, this Sunday at 12pm CET. The Manager was optimistic, despite emphasizing the stength of their opponents. Escribá maintained that his squad have always been on par with the teams at the top of the table: “We have always been right up there with the teams at the top and we want to keep that going. I think it will be an even and competitive match”.
Thus, Escribá wants his team to go out onto the pitch at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium with maximum intensity to take the three points from Sevilla: “We’re going to Sevilla to win, but we’re fighting for different objectives. It’s one of the hardest matches, the Sánchez-Pizjuán is a stadium where both the players and the fans pile on the pressure. Our aim is to pick up the three points to fight for our objective”.
The Yellows boss has some important players out for this match, but will also have some players back for Sunday: “We can count on Cheryshev. He’s been given the all clear by the doctor and over the last couple of weeks he’s been training frequently. Bakambu has also come back good and really wants to play against Sevilla”, he affirmed.
Lastly, Fran Escribá revealed what the key to winning the match will be: “We aim to be strong in defence and go for their goal. When we play against big teams we always aim to keep a clean sheet and go in search of their goal. We’re good enough to score against them. We’re going there to win and put in a good performance”.
