The Submarine have the chance to equal their all-time record for consecutive wins in the top flight against Celta
Villarreal CF are enjoying one of the best spells in their recent history. The Yellows have strung together eight straight wins in LALIGA and now have the chance to equal their historic record for consecutive victories, set under Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the 2006/07 season.
This figure has been achieved by combining the last six matches of the 2024/25 campaign with the first two of 2025/26, all under the guidance of Marcelino García Toral, the coach with the most wins in Villarreal history (125).
These matches came one after another, with the particularity of the clash against RCD Espanyol, originally scheduled for Matchday 26, which was postponed due to weather alerts and flood risks at the start of March.
