The Asturian coach anticipates a very even contest against Valencia CF (Sunday, 9:00 p.m.)
Villarreal CF head coach Marcelino García Toral spoke to the media this Friday to preview the Matchday 25 LALIGA EA Sports clash against Valencia CF, which will be played this Sunday at 9:00 p.m. at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
During the press conference, the Asturian manager warned about the difficulty of the encounter: “Against Valencia, I always expect a difficult match. We’re in the final third of the season and everyone is fighting for their objectives. Valencia are a good team with quality players. It’s true they have been inconsistent away from home, but they will arrive boosted by their latest result.”
The Yellow Submarine coach also recalled last season’s meeting and predicted another tight affair: “It will be like last year — difficult and very close. We hope to take the three points and secure a victory that is very important at this stage of the season.”
Asked about facing a second consecutive derby, Marcelino put the challenge into context: “Every match has its own story. The Levante game was very complicated.” Regarding Valencia, he once again stressed that, despite playing at home, the challenge will be significant: “They’re a different team to Levante. We’re playing at our stadium, but it will be an even game. Valencia have urgency and quality players, and they will put us under maximum pressure. We have to reach our best level. We are a competitive team and at our stadium we are efficient.”
