Villarreal’s new defender has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play for the club, and stated his desire to contribute to the team
Villarreal CF unveiled Logan Costa as a new Groguet player on Thursday. Accompanied by sporting director, Miguel Ángel Tena, the defender appeared in front of the media in the press room at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
“I want to thank everyone for the opportunity that I have been given to come here to Villarreal. These first few days have gone by very quickly, but the team have made me feel very welcome and I am ready to start showing my level”, the new signing declared.
Talking about his personal objectives, Logan Costa highlighted the importance of his decisiveness in the back line: “My main objective is that every time I step onto the pitch, the team don’t concede goals and that we keep clean sheets. I am here to contribute in that aspect and for us to have a good connection to concede the fewest amount of goals possible.”
The new Yellows’ signing went on to state that he is living a dream by playing in LaLiga and Villarreal CF: “Since I was a kid, I watched LaLiga and saw it as the best league in the world. It was a dream to come to play here. And in this case, Villarreal CF is a great LaLiga club. I like their style, positioning play and how they dominate the ball a lot. I believe that I can add a lot to the team, and I am really excited to start to show this.”
Tena: “He is a player with a very interesting potential”
Villarreal sporting director, Miguel Ángel Tena, joined the player for his official presentation as a Groguet player. “We needed to reinforce the centre of defence. One of Logan Costa’s best attributes is that, despite his age, he has played at a great level in the French league, where he was able to show that he is a very aggressive and intense player. Also, he is very good on the ball, and he can play with both feet as well. We know that we have signed a player with a very interesting potential who will help us improve on our numbers from last season.”
