The head coach of Villarreal Women has underlined the importance of getting points on the board at home to make sure they fulfil their objective
Head coach of Villarreal Women, Jordi Ferriols, has appeared in front of the media this Friday to analyse the upcoming match against Real Madrid B, corresponding to Matchday 23 of the 2024/25 Primera Federación season, which will kick-off on Saturday at 4pm CEST on Pitch 5 of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground.
The team’s hard work
“We are doing really well. In fact, you can see the work we’ve been doing these two months that we’ve been together. You can see it both in the game and in the results. For example, in the last game I think we deserved more against AEM. We were the better team and deserved to win there.”
A clear objective
“I think we are on the right track. We have to keep working. We are convinced that we are going to make it. That’s why we’re calm. There are four games left and we’re going to try to win to stay in this division.”
A difficult end of the season
“‘The opponents we have left are opponents like the ones we’ve faced recently, like AEM, who we just played against and they were fourth. We deserved more in that game, but that’s football. There’s always tension, but our heads are in the right place and we’re confident in the work we’re doing.”
Next up: Real Madrid B
“They are players with a lot of individual talent, although they have difficulty away from home and that’s where we are getting stronger. It will be difficult. From a collective point of view and from what we are working on, we are confident of getting close to victory.”
Being strong at home
“‘We have to be strong at home. We’ve had a win and a draw here in the last two months. We must continue in that vein, that of scoring points here. That’s what will bring us closer to our objective.”
