Escribá is regretful about the defeat but highlights the great effort given by his players vs Las Palmas
After the league clash against UD Las Palmas, Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, stressed that despite the defeat (1-0), his team left everything on the pitch, for which reason he is satisfied. “We have to be satisfied with the team because they gave everything, created many chances for only having ten men, played well and if you take risks you’re bound to concede a chance. Obviously, it hurts to lose a match which we were the better side in. We controlled the opening minutes, but the goal is an inexcusable error as there was only one of them”.
For the Submarine Manager, another of the turning points was, of course, the sending off of Víctor Ruiz: !The sending off affected us a lot. We didn’t want anything to happen until the break and in the end by taking plenty of risks we almost equalized. Nevertheless, the goal annoys me more than the foul, as these things happen. With only one striker who was looking to get in behind us, we had to have him marked. They were nervous, but in general we can’t be critical because they [Villarreal] gave everything and it wasn’t to be”.
