Marcelino says the game against Deportivo de la Coruña should be a special celebration
The Villarreal CF manager, Marcelino García Toral, assured that his team are still affected by the UEFA Europa League Semi-final loss, but they will try to finish on a good note. Their next challenge will be against Deportivo de la Coruña at El Madrigal on Sunday.
“It’s not an easy time for us, elimination from the Europa League was a big blow. The whole squad has been really affected by it, as has the entire club, because we were so excited about the competition and we wanted to get to the Final. We are going to try to pick ourselves up to get the win tomorrow in front of our fans though and finish the season in El Madrigal on a high”, Marcelino commented.
According to the manager, the game against the Galicians should serve as a mutual tribute for the team and fans after a great season for the Submarine, in which they have clinched fourth place in the table and reached the Semi-finals of the UEFA Europ League: “We’re still really affected by the result on Thursday, bu both the team and the fans should be equally honoured and recognised for this brilliant season”.
