Manuel Iturra promises “commitment” and “hard work” to help his new club
Midfielder Manuel Iturra has been presented as a new Villarreal CF footballer in front of the press by club CEO, Fernando Roig Negueroles. In his press conference, the Chilean footballer expressed gratitude at the opportunity given to him by the Yellows: “It is a challenge to reach the standards that are required when playing for this club. I also want to thank my team-mates for the great welcome they have given to me.”
The experienced Yellows midfielder expressed that he “feels ready” for the demands of this new challenge in his career. “When Villarreal called me, I couldn’t believe it. Being in this club is an important challenge for me. I am going to give my very all and work very hard to do my bit and help the team,” he explained.
Iturra says his experience is one of his great strengths: “I’m currently in a good way both physically and mentally. I’m a footballer who depends on his physical state. Because of that, I’ve looked after myself throughout my career, with the goal of reaching this part of my career at 100% still.”
Finally, Iturra underlined his commitment to this new stage of his career: “Villarreal is a club with a clear idea of what football is. I have to adapt to that and to what the coach asks of me. I will give my all to achieve that and enjoy this experience.”
Roig Negueroles: “His experience can bring a lot to the team”
Villarreal CF’s CEO explained that the club decided to dip into the market to strengthen the team in the middle of the pitch due to injuries suffered at the start of this campaign. What’s more, Roig Negueroles was sure that Iturra “will bring a lot to the team, on both a human level and a sporting one, due to his experience and his know-how.”
