The Yellows and Universitat Jaume I continue to strengthen their commitment to academic and sporting development through the Endavant Chair
The Estadio de la Cerámica has opened its doors to host a new institutional visit from Universitat Jaume I (UJI). In this emblematic setting, Villarreal CF and the university have reaffirmed their close relationship, consolidating once again their commitment to the development of students through the Endavant Chair initiative.
Through this programme, the Yellows and UJI join forces to promote talent, providing essential support to those young people who take on the challenge of combining demanding university studies with high-performance sport. This represents another step forward in the joint commitment of the Submarine and the university to the future of education and sport in our province.
Beyond direct financial scholarships for athletes, the Endavant Chair agreement actively promotes specialised training, support for research and the integration of students on work placements within the club.
Impact figures
During 2025, the Villarreal CF – UJI Endavant Chair Scholarship Programme recorded figures that reflect the scale and reach of this social project:
- €40,000 allocated entirely to the scholarship programme.
- 75 elite university athletes supported.
- Representation across 18 sports: athletics, football, swimming, taekwondo, handball, hockey, aeronautics, karate, skating, basketball, chess, fencing, golf, weightlifting, judo, pilota valenciana, mountain sports and climbing.
A commitment to professional training
As a clear example of this outstanding synergy, during the current 2024/25 academic year, Villarreal CF have welcomed 14 students on curricular placements from UJI at their facilities. These young talents are completing their training across different club departments, applying their knowledge from a wide range of degree courses such as Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CAFD), English Studies, Journalism, Psychology, Advertising and Public Relations.
