Villarreal CF have created a video documentary, in collaboration with ASISA, on the recovery process of Ilias Akhomach, who is working to return to the field of play after suffering a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
It was the 41st minute of the match between Villarreal and Alavés at the Estadio de la Cerámica on 9th November when the Spanish-Moroccan was forced to leave the field after a twisting in his knee. The unfortunate action cut short his participation in the match, which the Yellows won thanks to a great goal by Ilias himself. A few hours later, the worst predictions were realised.
After confirming the diagnosis and digesting the strong emotional blow, Ilias underwent ACL surgery in Barcelona to begin a long road of work to return to the field of play.
