Miguel Álvarez analysed this Sunday’s match against AD Ceuta (12pm CET)
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez appeared in front of the media at the press room at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground to analyse their next opponent, AD Ceuta, which will take place this Sunday at 12pm CET at the Alfonso Murube.
The team’s current form
“In football you have to live in the moment. You know that if you stray from the path, you’ve messed up. The win the other day against Atlético de Madrid B was a great result, but we’re not happy in the last 15 minutes. Our biggest success was the other day at El Sadar to see four B players, where two played and the other two were warming up.”
AD Ceuta, the rival
‘Of the 18 points they have, they have taken ten at home. They are a team with experienced players, including several players who have played in the second division. It’s a category in which anyone can beat anyone, and if you lose your concentration, they’ll bite you. If you do things right, they’ll come close to winning, but all the games are very tight.”
A match similar to the one against Alcoyano?
‘They are teams with very experienced players, of a very high standard. Playing away from home, the atmosphere… it’s a match like the one in Alcoy. It’s a very difficult ground to visit. If we continue in the same vein as we have been, we can compete against any team.”
Etta Eyong
‘He’s an incredible person and as a player he has some incredible conditions. Not only because of the goals he is scoring, but also because of everything he brings without the ball. He’s a player that every head coach is going to want in professional football. He has a very good character, he respects the coaching staff a lot, he wants to learn every day… He makes you happy and he makes his people happy. I don’t know when or how, but he’s going to get there. Right now he has very good numbers in a B team, but he can go further.”
