The Villarreal midfielder underlined the importance to beat CD Leganés to try and get towards the European spots
Villarreal midfielder Vicente Iborra appeared in front of the press to analyse the build-up to the game against CD Leganés this Sunday at the Estadio de la Cerámica (6:30pm CET).
The Valencian footballer highlighted the importance of getting a win against the side from Madrid to look up the table: “Despite the last two defeats, I think we can come away with very positive things. Now we have a very important match at home. If we’re capable of winning, we’ll be back among the European spots. We’re excited and we’re only thinking of getting a win in front of our fans.”
Villarreal’s No.10 is focused on the tie on Sunday, but warned about the complexity of facing CD Leganés, who are in a delicate moment: “They’re a tough opponent. They’re playing to stay in the league. We need to be mentally read, be cold-blooded and know the match lasts 90 minutes and can be decided whenever.”
To fight for the European spots, Iborra underlined that the Yellows need to be strong at the Estadio de la Cerámica: “At home, we need to be a strong team, a team that wins games and doesn’t let too many points slip away. If we do that and we improve away, we can reach our aim. Despite that, we’re only thinking on this Sunday’s match and not looking any further.”
