Gerard Moreno underlines that the team is hard at work getting ready to start LaLiga strongly
Gerard Moreno is excited once more. The Catalan striker underlined that the team is hard at work in pre-season to be in the best position to start LaLiga as strong as possible. Currently, the Yellow Submarine have two wins out of their two pre-season friendlies. “We’re feeling good and we’re getting our legs into shape before LaLiga starts. One of the key factors will be starting well. If we start off by winning, we will have more confidence ahead of the next games. We’re getting into rhythm and we’re taking in what the gaffer is asking us, so that what happened to us last season doesn’t happen. We hope to carry on like that. We’re looking good on the pitch and that gives you confidence,” he said.
The Yellows No.7 added that the new signings have been welcomed well and between everyone, the aim is to try and finish as high as possible in the league: “The new arrivals are positive. They’ve been welcomed well and it’s healthy for everyone to have competition. The most important thing is the group. I’m confident with the squad we have. Everywhere on the pitch is very well covered. We hope that this year we deserve to be higher up the table. We’re keen on excitement and not suffering.”
In regards to his personal situation, Gerard prefers not to set himself a goal target: “I never like to set myself a number of goals I want to score. It’s true that in pre-season the strikers are finding the back of the net and that’s good. Competition between us means our level increases. If all the strikers are on form from the start, it’s great. I hope to help the team every way possible. Each one of us needs to improve individually to help the team.”
Finally, Gerard showed his excitement ahead of the league season: “We’re happy on the pitch. We can’t wait for the season to start.”
