Quique Setién was disappointed with Villarreal’s defeat and lack of accuracy at the Martínez Valero
Villarreal head coach Quique Setién spoke to the media to analyse the Submarine’s 3-1 defeat at Elche. He highlighted the fact that the Yellows were affected by imprecision and a lack of confidence: “We conceded a goal before half-time and then another one just after the break. This killed us. We made mistakes and it made us lose confidence. We were unable to recover from this. We deserved to lose, because today we struggled to do things well.”
Setién also underlined the need with which Elche came into the game, and that his team made it easy for them: “They were in need of a win. We knew that and we tried to make sure it didn’t happen. We couldn’t and that’s the result and the consequences of not doing things right. We made it easy for them to beat us.”
