Alberto Moreno underlines the importance of hard work in the coming weeks to be completely ready for the restart of the domestic league
Alberto Moreno appeared in front of the official Villarreal CF and LaLiga press teams to analyse the Yellow Submarine’s current situation, with the Yellows getting ready to return to league competition. The defender highlighted the importance of working as hard as possible to be ready for when LaLiga gets back underway: “We have been training for nearly two months on staying in shape at home and now it’s time to return to match fitness. At the beginning, it’s a little bit tough but as the training sessions go on, we will continue giving our all and when the league resumes we will be in the best possible shape.”
He underlined that the current situation the world is going through due to the COVID-19 pandemic is exceptional: “You have to understand the reality of what we’re currently going through. I’m a person who likes a joke and to have close contact with my team-mates, but that isn’t possible at the moment. We must be responsible, take precautionary measures and continue moving forward.”
This Thursday’s session was in heavy rain, but that did not stop the Yellows from continuing with their hard work on the training pitch: “It reminded me of my time in Liverpool. Personally, I don’t mind training in rain. We’re professionals and we’re used to it.”
Finally, Moreno emphasised the team’s wish to fight for the European spots in the 11 games left this season: “We’re pushing ourselves as far as we can go. We have a number of weeks to get ready, study our opponents and grow as a team. We want to fight for the European spots.”
