The Valencian dog shelter, a partner of Villarreal CF, is holding this traditional event on Sunday 15th December
The AUPA (Adopt An Abandoned Dog – Adopta Un Perro Abandonado) shelter, with which Villarreal CF has a close relationship, will be holding the 25th Christmas Parade for dogs without homes on Sunday 15th December, starting at 12pm CET.
As always, the event will consist of a small parade of the shelter’s dogs, which will start outside Bioparc (Valencia). There, more than 30 dogs from the association will make themselves known with the hope of finding a foster family.
This traditional event, which is held every year in the capital of the region, will once again speak out against animal abandonment and, at the same time, raise awareness of the importance of animal welfare. This year, moreover, several dogs will be parading in the hope of finding a new home after losing everything as a result of the flooding in Valencia.
Villarreal and AUPA, committed to adoption
Through Endavant Solidaritat, Villarreal CF works closely with the Valencian charity AUPA. This season, the club has gone one step further, creating the ‘Canine Art’ initiative in which AUPA’s dogs are the artists and creators of the club’s institutional gift. As a result of this, at every one of the Submarine’s home games, one of the dogs from the shelter becomes the featured animal. The club spreads the story of the dog among its fans and those of the opposition, encouraging them to give it a new home.
