Gerard Moreno: “I’m going to work hard to get back to my best”

Gerard has vowed that he is physically fit and ready to help the team

Villarreal CF player, Gerard Moreno, has appeared before the media at a press conference to talk about the current situation of the team and to analyse the Submarine’s match against Almería next Saturday (4:15pm CET, Power Horse Stadium).

These were the most important declarations of the Yellows’ striker:

Match against Almería

“It will be a difficult game because Almeria are a team who are very strong at their stadium, the other day they beat the leaders of the competition and here they made things difficult for us. They are also very clear about how they play. We are aware of the importance of the game because we want to keep improving in the standings”.

Current fitness state

“I’m fine. I’ve been out for a few weeks because I’m aware of everything that’s left and I know my body perfectly well. I’m going to keep working to get the continuity I’d like. Now comes the final stretch of the season and I have to be physically and mentally prepared to be able to help the team.”

The win against Getafe strengthens the team

“Beating Getafe gives us a lot of confidence, but we have to keep working to add in the following games because, like us, many teams want to be in Europe next season, so it’s not going to be easy.”

The UEFA Europa Conference League

“LaLiga and the Conference League are totally different competitions. Now the play-offs are coming up and we are aware that if we have a bad game we could be out. The whole team is focused on getting through the play-offs against a great rival and with the clear objective of getting through the play-offs against a great opponent.”
