The midfielder, the hero in the Yellows’ only win at Los Blancos’ stadium, backs his team to repeat the feat
It was the 87th minute and the match was nearly over when Pablo Fornals made the most of a rebound after Keylor Navas saved Enes Ünal’s shot to beat the Costa Rican goalkeeper with a fantastic lob. The midfielder’s goal brought Villarreal’s first ever victory at the Santiago Bernabéu. A feat he dreams of repeating this year.
“It’s a difficult ground, but we are really excited to go there. We were able to win last year and why can’t we repeat that this year? We haven’t lost in LaLiga for a while. We can cause them damage, and we are going with the hope to get points at the Santiago Bernabéu,” says Fornals, who, furthermore, made his LaLiga debut on the same stage on 26th September 2016, wearing the short of his former club, Málaga CF.
The Yellows No.8, who scored a great ‘rabona’ goal against SD Huesca, backs his side to continue playing like they have done in recent matches to try and win at Los Blancos’ coliseum: “We must be cautious and work hard during the match. To come away with something positive, we need to have the ball, to focus and not give them chances. We need to continue playing the style of play we’ve been doing, as it’s that, which is working out for us.”
