A total of 11 Yellows will represent their national teams in the coming days
A total of eleven Villarreal CF players have been called up by their national teams to take part in the fixtures scheduled during the current international break.
The Groguets who will join their national squads are as follows: Renato Veiga (Portugal), Georges Mikautadze (Georgia), Nicolas Pepe (Côte d’Ivoire), Santiago Mouriño (Uruguay), Tani Oluwaseyi (Canada), Tajon Buchanan (Canada), Pape Gueye (Senegal), Ilias Akhomach (Morocco), Thomas Partey (Ghana), Manor Solomon (Israel) and Pau Navarro (Spain U20s).
Europeans Renato Veiga and Georges Mikautadze, as well as Israeli Manor Solomon, will play World Cup qualifying matches. Portugal face Ireland and Hungary, while Georgia take on Spain and Turkey. Israel visit Norway and Italy.
Similarly, Africans Pape Gueye, Nicolas Pepe, Thomas Partey and Ilias Akhomach are also involved in 2026 World Cup qualifying matches. Senegal play South Sudan and Mauritania; Côte d’Ivoire face Seychelles and Kenya; Ghana take on the Central African Republic and Comoros; and Morocco meet Bahrain and Congo.
Meanwhile, Mouriño and Canadians Buchanan and Oluwaseyi will play friendly matches, as they have already qualified for the World Cup. Uruguay face the Dominican Republic and Uzbekistan, while the ‘rouge’ host Australia and Colombia.
Finally, Pau Navarro is competing in the U20 World Cup with the Spain U20s. ‘La Rojita’ face Ukraine in the round of 16, after beating Brazil (1-0), drawing with Mexico (2-2) and losing on debut to Morocco (2-0).
