The Vila-real-born coach predicts a very intense match against Valencia at the Mini Estadi (Sunday, 5.00 pm)
Villarreal Femenino head coach Jordi Ferriols spoke to V Play to preview the direct clash against Valencia CF, which will be played at the Mini Estadi (Sunday, 5.00 pm).
The Yellow Submarine coach gave a positive assessment of the draw achieved in the last matchday, before the league break, against Atlético de Madrid B: “The feelings are very good. It’s always very difficult to get points away from home, especially in our league. It’s true that in the last minute we had a very clear chance, but we took a point and it’s always important to keep adding points. We’re happy.”
Regarding the next opponent, Jordi Ferriols explained that he expects a very competitive match against Valencia: “I expect a recognisable Valencia side. It’s a team that adapts to the opponent and creates superiority both out wide and in depth. We know each other well because we’ve already faced each other several times. It will be a nice match.” He also underlined the importance of this stage of the season: “Both teams are fighting at the top of the table, but the important thing is to consolidate our position. Whatever happens, there are six matchdays left and we have to keep trying to secure the play-off places.”
The groguet coach also highlighted the venue for the match, which will be the Mini Estadi: “It’s always nice to play at the Mini again. The players are very excited about it and so am I. A lot of people come, and more than motivation, it’s what the players deserve for the season they’re having. We’ll try to make it an enjoyable match to watch.”
