The Villarreal Women head coach has assured that the team faces the match with the confidence to achieve survival
Villarreal Women’s head coach Jordi Ferriols spoke to the media ahead of the match against CD Alba Fundación, the last and final game of the Primera Federación, in which the team will be playing for survival (Sunday, 12pm CEST).
“It’s the last league game. We are playing for survival. We have to show pride and get the win. We’re mentally prepared to play the game like a final. We’re going for it. If we win, we’ll be in survival. And we’re not thinking about anything else,” said Jordi Ferriols.
As for the rival, he acknowledged that Albacete are a team with a high level: “I was very surprised in the game of the first round here. They have a great head coach. They’re a team who aren’t playing for anything, but they’ll want to win. We have a duty to do so.”
On the other hand, Ferriols stressed that the emotional aspect will be fundamental to face such an important game: “We’re fine physically, but the most important thing is our emotions. It is essential to manage them, as we did against Cáceres. We need another victory.”
