The coach from Vila-real previews the upcoming match against Tenerife B (Sunday, 11am CET)
Villarreal Women head coach Jordi Ferriols spoke to V Play to preview the clash against Tenerife B, set to take place at Campo 5 of the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza (Sunday, 11am CET).
A different week
“The week has been very good. We had the chance to enjoy a really nice experience together in Morocco. It also helped us disconnect from the competition bubble, which is always very demanding. Now we’re ready for Sunday’s match against Tenerife.”
The next opponent: Tenerife B
“I expect a Tenerife side just as dynamic and vertical as they were at home. It’s true that away from home and on bigger pitches they can struggle a bit more, but it’s always difficult to play against them. They’re a very direct team in possession, strong on second balls, with plenty of attacking quality up front. We have to be ready to counter their strengths and continue reinforcing our own identity as Villarreal.”
Final stretch
“The team is clear that our objective right now is to secure a play-off spot. If we can achieve it this week, great. If not, we know we still have three matches left. This is a very competitive league, with tough games both at the top and bottom of the table. We are ready and convinced that we have to try to achieve it this week.”
