Villarreal CF wants to express its deep grief and sorrow for the loss of former player and coach Alfredo Di Stefano (88 years) on Monday July 7th at the Gregorio Marañón Hospital in Madrid.
The Argentine-Spanish legend was considered as one of the top five players in the XX Century according to FIFA, along with Maradona, Pele, Beckenbauer and Cruyff. Since 2000, Di Stéfano was the Honorary President of Real Madrid CF, with which he won five European Cups and eight Spanish leagues. As a coach, he won a league with Valencia CF.
Villarreal CF wishes to express its sincerest condolences to his family, relatives and to Real Madrid. RIP.
