Javi Calleja and Manu Trigueros affirm that the team will “go for it” against Olympique de Lyon
At midday today, Villarreal CF Manager, Javi Calleja, and Yellows midfielder, Manu Trigueros, assured that the Yellow Submarine will go all out to make a comeback in this Thursday’s Round of 32 tie against Olympique de Lyon (7pm CET, Estadio de la Cerámica). The Yellows must win by at least a 2-0 to beat Lyon, thanks to an away goal by Pablo Fornals at the Groupama Stadium.
Javi Calleja affirmed that the team will give their all to make the comeback: “We have to believe in it, the first thing is to think we can and then show it on the pitch. I’m noticing that the comeback is in the air within the team. Tomorrow we have to execute it out on the pitch. From the time we get to the stadium we have to feel that we can turn this around, make the comeback and make it a day to remember”.
Manu Trigueros: “We know that we can come back”
Manu Trigueros also spoke at today’s press conference at the Estadio de la Cerámica. The midfielder stated that the team knows that they have options to get through to the next round at their home ground: “We know it’s not going to be easy, no match is easy and even less so in Europe. We know we have a tough task, but we’re playing at our stadium now, with our fans and we know we can make the comeback. Tomorrow, we are going to give it everything we have”.
