Villarreal CF fans have chosen the Turkish striker as the team’s best player for last month
Enes Ünal has benn chosen by Yellows fans as March’s Five Star Player for his excellent performance’s last month, which included a spectacular game against Atlético Madrid at the Estadio de la Cerámica in which he came on and scored a brace to give the Yellows the win. This is the first time the Turk has won the Five Star Player award this season. Mahou, sponsor of the Yellow Submarine, promotes this award.
The Yellow number 15 was very grateful for this recognition: “I’m grateful. Thank you to everyone that voted me for this award”. The striker went on to say that his main goal is to benefit Villarreal: “It doesn’t matter if I score one goal, or two, or none, the most important thing is to help the team to win every match”. The way to choose the Five Star Player is simple. Every month, fans vote via Twitter for who they think has been the team’s best player. To do it correctly, users have to tweet the name of their chosen player along with the hashtag: ‘#Jugador5EstrellasCVF’ during the set time period. Once this time limit is up, votes are counted to determine the winner.
Through this initiative, Mahou Five Stars (Mahou Cinco Estrellas) announces Villarreal’s stand out player for each month. The prize is awarded by the fans, who cast their votes on Twitter; specifically, on the ‘@futbolmahou’ profile, with the collaboration of Villarreal CF’s official Twitter accounts (@VillarrealCF and @Eng_Villarreal).
The Five Star Player award is given out every month during the season. Don’t forget to vote for your favourite player for April. Make sure you keep an eye on the ‘@futbolmahou’ and ‘@VillarrealCF’ profiles, where the time period for voting and eventual winners will both be announced.
