Villarreal will donate all its ticket sales from the Levante match to the Association
Villarreal CF and the Conquistando Escalones Association have today revealed their collaboration agreement in an event that took place in the “Sports City” (Ciudad Deportiva) press room. The event was attended by the vice president of Villarreal CF, José Manuel Llaneza, and the vice president of Conquistando Escalones, Abrahán Guirao, as well as doctors José Alcamí (Carlos III Health Institute, Madrid) and Juan Vilchez (‘La Fe’ Hospital, Valencia) who were representing different research parties.
At the event it was made known that Villarreal CF has decided to give all the money made from the ticket office, of the First Division (LaLiga) fixture against Levante (Sunday 28th February, 12:00 CET), to the Conquistando Escalones Association.
Furthermore, the Villarreal players’ shirts that are used in the game will be auctioned for the cause of the Association. On match day, the photo of the Submarine starting eleven will be taken with members of the Conquistando Escalones Association and within and around the stadium there will also be points of information and charity bracelets for sale to support Conquistando Escalones.
It should be remembered that Villarreal CF was already collaborating with Conquistando Escalones having donated official merchandise for events as well as broadcasting all the Association’s events. For this reason, the club will continue to provide Conquistando Escalones with all the media resources available to help the Asscoiation raise the maximum amount of money possible to achieve their objective of financing different methods of research to find a cure.
Likewise, the ‘Grada Solidaria’ (charity stand) in El Madrigal stadium, well known for their solidarity, will also be supporting Conquistando Escalones on this occasion, as they will have a set number of tickets that they will have to sell, starting tomorrow.

A medical alliance of four parties
Conquistando Escalones is an Association founded by people affected by Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD-1F). A family from Vila-real has suffered for more than 8 generations from a genetic mutation that makes them have this disease.
In various investigations it has been discovered that the protein affected in the said disease is the same as that which reproduces HIV, with the result being that the mutation of this gene makes them immune to AIDS. For this reason, finding the cure for this muscular disease could also mean the end of HIV.
This research involves four parties represented by José Alcamí (Carlos III Health Institute, Madrid), Juan Vilchez (‘La Fe’ Hospital, Valencia), Rubén Artero (University of Valencia) and Ramón Martí (‘Vall d’Hebron’ Hospital, Barcelona). They all need funds to carry out this investigation and find the cure for Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD-1F) and AIDS.
