Miguel Álvarez underlines that the reserves will go into the clash strongly after playing well in Alcoy
Villarreal B manager Miguel Álvarez appeared in front of the media to analyse the upcoming match this Saturday between the Yellows reserves and SD Ejea (Mini Estadi, 5pm CET). The head coach underlined that the Mini Submarine go into the clash against the side from Aragón full of confidence after the good performance in Alcoy: “We’re coming into this match strong on the back of the Alcoyano game. Despite the draw, we could have won comfortably. We played some sensational football at an extremely tough ground against a side that always makes it hard for you. Now, we want to translate these good feelings into a win at home against SD Ejea.”
The Yellows coach highlighted the growth that SD Ejea have had as the season has gone on: “It’s a team that has grown a lot in recent games. They’re a lot more dangerous now than they were during the first round of fixtures. They’re a newly-promoted side, but they have been able to adapt themselves and they’re in a comfortable place in the table.”
Álvarez believes that being at the top of the table means Villarreal B’s opponents will have extra motivation for the game, and that they will be at their best to try and beat the leader: “Being at the top, every opponent demands more. What we need to try and do is make sure that we reduce their strengths and magnify their weaknesses. There are a lot of games left, and despite having done things well up until now, we can’t relax as it is a tight league and any team can beat you,” he concluded.
