Quique Setién backs his side to play good football to defeat Rayo Vallecano on Monday (9pm CET)

Villarreal face Rayo Vallecano this Monday at the Estadio de la Cerámica (9pm) with the intention of extending their good run of form. The Submarine’s coach, Quique Setién, predicts that it will be an entertaining game.

Analysing Rayo

“Rayo are doing very well under Iraola. They are a brave team that focuses on attack. Their style of play allows them to get good results and to be in a calm spot of the table. They’ve had the same coach for a long time and they keep improving. For me, they are a team that I love.”

Recovering players

“We have had enough rest days to recover several players. Tomorrow we’ll have an activation session and we’ll assess the situation ahead of the game against Rayo.”

Trying to get three more points

“The intention is to put in a good performance. We’re on a positive run both in terms of play and results and we want to keep it going. We are on the right track. We are getting better and better in many aspects of the game. There’s no better motivation than to get three points and that’s what we’re going to try to do again against Rayo.”
