The Italian defender recognises that Villarreal are working hard to iron out mistakes
Daniele Bonera is back. The Italian defender faced the press this Friday after leaving his injury behind him and having returned to full training. The Yellows’ ’23’ recognised that he’s felt better each day and is settling back into the dynamic of the group: “I’m good. This week I’ve trained every day. My physical condition isn’t quite right, but I’m working hard to get myself into shape.”
During the press conference, the centre-back looked at the current situation the Submarine find themselves in. “For me, the team hasn’t played badly in the first few games. We made some errors in some of the matches that we paid for severely. I’m not worried. The team is showing maximum commitment and is working hard to change the dynamics,” he commented.
Bonera also expressed his gratitude to the club for allowing him to carry on for a further year as part of the Villarreal CF squad: “I’m grateful to be able to play here for another season. Last year I found myself in a really good place, I played a lot of minutes. This year, I hope to carry on helping the team with my experience.”
Lastly, the veteran claimed Villarreal are completely focused on getting three points when they visit CD Leganés next week, adding: “We know that Butarque is a difficult place to go to, but we’re heading there with the aim of getting our first victory.”
