The Madrid-based fan club El Os Groc will fulfil their promise, get on their bikes and make the 460km journey for a good cause to go to the match against Real Valladolid
You have to fulfil your promises. Official Villarreal fan club El Os Groc will get on their bikes and make the 460km journey from Madrid to go the this Saturday’s match against Real Valladolid at the Estadio de la Cerámica (1pm CEST). This large journey is a result of a promise the fan club made should the Yellows manage to stay in the top flight last season.
Furthermore, this initiative is for a good cause. The ride to the Estadio de la Cerámica, will raise funds for Rett syndrome, a genetic neurological disorder that affects the way the brain develops in children.
A total of 13 brave Yellows will leave this Thursday at 8am CEST from the Factory Bike store in Leganés to arrive in Vila-real in time for the match against Real Valladolid. During the trip, the fan club members, who will be accompanied by a support car, will stop only twice, once in Cuenca and the other in Sarrión (Teruel). After completing the 460km, the cyclists’ arrival in Vila-real, which is expected for 11:45am CEST on Saturday, will be greeted by a special welcome by club directors and the Official Supporters’ Group (Agrupació de Penyes del Villarreal CF).
The Yellows’ fans from Madrid will not travel alone, as a total of 70 people from Villanueva de Ávila, where this project came from, will come in buses to be in the stands of La Cerámica during the league tie.
After the match, the fans from Madrid will go to La Vall d’Uixó for the first official Fans Club Meeting and put the cherry on top of this fundraising effort.
The charity area against Real Valladolid, for the El Os Groc fan club and their fight against Rett Syndrome
Villarreal CF has assigned the charity area of the match against Real Valladolid (Saturday, 1pm CEST) to the El Os Groc fan club, who will use their long trip to Vila-real by bike to raise funds in the fight against Rett Syndrome. From this Tuesday, fans can buy tickets in the area from the Official Supporters’ Group for just 10 Euros.
