Villarreal renews the Italian centre back’s contract for one more season on his 36th birthday

One year older and one more year on his contract! Villarreal CF has come to an agreement with defender Daniele Bonera for the renewal of his contract for another year, which will be the Italian centre back’s third season as a Yellow. The presentation agreement between both parties will take place this Friday at 12pm in the press room at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva).

Having become an important player for Villarreal both on and off the pitch, Daniele Bonera (Brescia, 31st May 1981) has had an illustrious career, making more than 300 appearances in the Serie A and participating in all European competitions.

A former youth and senior international with Italy, he was formed at Brescia, where he rose through the ranks and made his debut with the First Team (1998/2002), he then went on to play for Parma FC (2002/06) before wearing the AC Milan shirt for nine seasons (2006/15). Since his arrival at the Submarine for the 2015/16 season, he has played 26 matches (14 in LaLiga and 2 in the Europa League).
