Villarreal CF and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Filip Jörgensen, who willl play join the Blues.
A big talent from the Villarreal CF academy
The young Danish youth international goalkeeper is one of the biggest talents from the Yellows Academy. He joined Villarreal CF in 2017, aged just 15, from RCD Mallorca. In the 2018/19 season, eh was part of the U19s (Juvenil A) squad which did the historic Youth Copa del Rey and league double.
His participation in the 2021/22 UEFA Youth League, and well as Villarreal B’s promotion to the second tier of Spanish football are some of Jörgensen’s stand-out moments at the club. However, above all of them is when he made his debut with the first team on 15th December 2021, against Atlético Sanluqueño, in the second round of the 2021/22 Copa del Rey.
Last season, Jörgensen established himself as the No.1 goalkeeper at Villarreal CF, being one of the youngest shot stoppers in the five big European leagues. He played a total of 44 matches with the Yellows’ first team, 38 of them in LALIGA EA Sports, three in the UEFA Europa Conference League, one in the UEFA Europa League and two in the Copa del Rey.
