The Yellow number 10 analyses his good form and the upcoming challenges for Villarreal
Samu Castillejo is in great form. After coming back from an injury that kept him on the sidelines for five weeks, the midfielder from Malaga has come back at his best, a level he was already at the start of the season against opponents like Real Betis and Deportivo Alavés. In last Saturday’s win over Levante UD (2-1) he showed once more that he is a different kind of player. “I felt really good in the last match. I had two good individual chances on goal. I’ve also had other good games this season, but it’s true that after this injury I needed to get back to feeling comfortable in the team”, he recognised.
The Yellow number 10 is one of the most influential men in Javi Calleja’s side. Despite having missed four league games due to injury, Castillejo is in the top 15 footballers in LaLiga to have completed the most successful dribbles (27) and successful crosses into the box (14).
The Andalusian winger, who has scored one so far this season, is focused on the progression of Villarreal and tries to turn his good form into positive results: “The most important thing for us to focus on is to keep picking up points and getting positive results out of our games. From there, if what we do in our games is good for us, great, if not we’ll stay focused on our progression”.
