The Yellows No.9 has become the second-biggest LaLiga Colombian scorer of all time with 50 goals
Colombian striker Carlos Bacca was the man of the hour for Villarreal CF this Sunday when he scored the only goal of the match as the Yellows beat CD Leganés 0-1. That saw the Submarine get their first victory of the 2018/19 season in LaLiga, giving them confidence. “The team deserved it. Possibly in previous games we had more shots and we played better, but the team competed and deserved it. This win will give us confidence and can calm us down,” said Bacca.
With his last strike, the ‘tricolor’ international now has 50 goals in LaLiga, becoming the second-biggest Colombian scorer in the competition, behind Radamel Falcao, who hit the back of the net 52 times for Atlético Madrid. After reaching this historic figure, Bacca was happy: “I came to Villarreal to carry on contributing and to keep giving my best.”
The Yellow’s No.9 has 16 league goals for Villarreal CF (19 in all competitions), 15 of those during the 2017/18 season, which can be added to the 34 he scored while at Sevilla FC.
