The Yellows manager underlines the team’s good performance and the point gained against Getafe
Villarreal head coach Javi Calleja appeared in front of the media to analyse the last LaLiga match of the season for the Yellows, which saw them come away from their trip to the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez with a point (2-2).
“This point is worth a lot. We came to get a win and put in a good game. We competed well and we knew how to respond to the goals against us. We’re leaving after showing a good performance. Now we need to rest and to think in next season,” said Calleja.
Furthermore, the Yellows manager underlined that the team is strengthened after a difficult season: “We will have time to analyse everything and draw conclusions. Despite the suffering, we’re coming out strengthened. This has been a season that will make us tougher. It was hard to keep up the level when we’ve already reached our aim. Today the team was professional and showed its face.”
Finally, after celebrating 20 years since his arrival at the club as a player, Calleja explained what Villarreal CF means to him: “It’s my family. I’ve had unique moments here. It’s given me the opportunity to be a professional player and prolong that dream as a manager. They’ve helped me a lot and I’m trying to return that with hard work.”
