The Villarreal CF Manager highlighted the “great performance” put in by all his players vs Málaga
The Villarreal CF Manager, Javi Calleja, stressed just how important it was to win against Málaga CF: “We knew it was going to be difficult. They’re a great team and we came into the game with a lot of players out. The players that played gave us so much though. It was important to win today because it allows us to secure ourselves in the top zone of the table and we did just that”.
The Yellows boss said his less regular players put in a “great performance”. “The match was even and we needed fresh legs to decide the game. We opted for the attacking players. They all put in a great performance and, luckily, they made it swing our way”.
With five Reserve team players on the team sheet, Calleja stood by his decision to count on the youngsters in the post-match press conference: “The Reserve team players are helping us a lot when we have players out. They’re showing that they’re here to stay”.
With regard to the international break, the Villarreal Manager explained that it will be “positive” in order to “recover some main players, give others rest and improve on some aspects”.
