The Villarreal manager hailed his side’s commitment and hard work against Real Sociedad
Villarreal manager Javi Calleja appeared in front of the media to analyse the Yellows’ crucial win at Anoeta (0-1). The coach was extremely satisfied with the result in San Sebastián: “We are very happy. Today’s win is a very important step towards safety. We need to mathematically confirm it, but it’s a big move. The team knew how to read the match. We defended well and we got our reward from a set piece.”
Calleja hailed his men’s hard work against Real Sociedad: “It’s an explosion of joy. Our work is being rewarded. It’s been a very hard season, we’re learning a lot and we’re able to get back up after knocks. We have a very committed dressing room who want to be in the top flight and they show it match after match.”
Finally, the Yellows manager focused on the upcoming league match against SD Huesca (Sunday, 6:30pm CEST): “We can’t put off survival. We want to be able to do it this week against Huesca. We need our fans’ support and we hope to give them a victory.”
