The midfielder returned to the pitch after missing more than three years through injury
The most awaited day for every Yellow. Bruno Soriano returned to play an official game after more than three years out through injury. A total of 1,128 days without enjoying his magic on the pitch. Bruno hadn’t played since 21st May 2017, on the final day of the 2016/17 season, against Valencia CF at Mestalla.
After two operations and a lot of discomfort during his recovery, Bruno Soriano hadn’t played a single minute of an official game. Until today.
He took to the pitch on the 87th minute of the game against Sevilla and received a great ovation from his team-mates, coaching staff and the president in the dressing room.
He is the player with most official games in Villarreal history. With today’s match against Sevilla, he now has 418 matches under his belt.
To celebrate Bruno’s return, #VillarrealTV has prepared an emotional video which sums up everything the midfielder has had to work on to return to the pitch. Just click play to watch it.
