Unai Emery backs his team to be recognisable against a CA Osasuna side who are in good form
Villarreal CF head coach Unai Emery appeared in front of the media remotely to analyse the build-up to the game against CA Osasuna at the Estadio de la Cerámica on Sunday (2pm CEST).
CA Osasuna, an opposition in a good place
“They are a team who transmit a lot of feelings. They have found the perfect coach for their philosophy. They’re a stable club. At the start of the season there were some doubts about them, but now they’re in a great moment of form, full of confidence and getting results. They want to become a top-flight regular.”
An intense team with attacking capability
“We will come up against a team who like to press, who are intense in duels and try and push the opposition away from their goal. They’re very good with second plays. They have quick players, skilful players, who can get away from you. They’re in a good moment of confidence. We will come up against an opponent who are going to demand a lot of us mentally and physically.”
Being strong at the Estadio de la Cerámica
“We need the three points and to feel strong at La Cerámica. The challenge is for the team to perform at a high level and take the sting out of the opposition’s play. We need to be capable of overcoming their very aggressive press, find good passes and manage moments of the game correctly.”
Changes for the CA Osasuna game
“There will be changes in the starting XI. We have a great squad. We have a number of alternatives across the pitch.”
A growing Villarreal side
“We’re progressing. We are analysing situations we’re experiencing well. Going from the foundations of us being a team that want to take up good positions and move the ball way, we want to know when we need to be aggressive when we are looking for space, and how to break the opposition lines. The team is finding answers to these situations. We’re confident, not only because of wins but also because of the sensations on the pitch.”
