Marcelino expects a tight tie with few goals at the Coliseum (Sunday, 2pm CEST)
The Yellows are back in action after an international break in which many of the players have been in action. “It’s something we have to live with. What we already know can’t weaken us at all. If you have good players, it’s possible to have a lot of internationals and, from here, try to get to the next game as well as possible. It’s something intrinsic to the competition and we have to look for answers to these situations. It may happen that a player arrives injured, but these are circumstances that happen. Pape and Pepe have come back with knocks. They are expected to be minor injuries,” he explained.
After a week with no league games, the Submarine visit the Getafe, with the aim of getting back to winning ways: “We’ve come off the back of two very different defeats. On the day against Alavés we weren’t at our best, but our immediate response against Real Madrid was very good, although we were affected by our lack of goals. The team is in good shape, with a good mentality and attitude. Now we’ll go to Getafe trying to give our best, knowing that it’s a very difficult game. We just have to focus our attention on those 90 minutes.”
With regard to the match and the opposition, Marcelino predicts a very tight game with few goals, which will go in favour of the team that is more accurate: “The game will be very difficult. All of Getafe’s games are very close. They are having a great season. They started with some difficulties due to injuries, but they have improved. Now they are at their best. They have a completely identified idea of the game. We have to minimise mistakes and whoever has more success in the penalty area will win the game. It’s expected to be a game with few goals, so the penalty areas will be decisive to get the three points.”
