The Pole was attracted to the club because of Riquelme, but has since became a die-hard fan

Bartłomiej Krawczyk follows the Yellows from Mąkoszyce, a village in south-western Poland, and has been a fan since 2005.

“My story began with Juan Román Riquelme, who played football in a way that amazed me,” said Bartłomiej. “My support moved from Riquelme to the team. It’s a great club from a small town that shows that with determination you can succeed.”

While he was inspired by Riquelme, Bartłomiej’s favourite player is Sergio Asenjo. “After coming back from nightmarish injuries, I believe he is an example for young players. He shows how you can return to the top after being in a situation that may feel hopeless.”

The Pole says he hopes to watch the Yellows at the Estadio de la Cerámica next year: “My dream is to go to watch the club in Spain, I’d love to go to a derby against Valencia, and I assure you that I would lose my voice after cheering on my team in the stands. I hope that I’ll manage to go next year.”

Here at Villarreal CF, through the #YellowsAroundTheWorld series, we will tell the stories of some of the Submarine’s biggest international fans.
