The Tenerife-born forward finishes as the top Spanish scorer in the 2024/25 season
Ayoze Pérez is officially the Zarra Trophy winner for the 2024/25 LALIGA EA Sports season. The Tenerife-born striker has claimed this prestigious individual honour for the very first time after netting 19 goals in the league. The Villarreal frontman finished well ahead of other notable Spanish scorers, such as Athletic Club’s Oihan Sancet (14) and Alavés’ Kike García (13).
Of his 19 goals, the Canary Islander scored 11 with his right foot, 4 with his left, and 4 with his head, none of them from the penalty spot.
In his debut campaign as a Yellow, Villarreal’s No.22 was the Submarine’s top scorer. His quality and attacking output were vital in helping the Yellows secure UEFA Champions League qualification for the 2025/26 season.
Third Zarra Trophy for a Villarreal player
Ayoze Pérez becomes the second Villarreal player to win the Zarra Trophy, following in the footsteps of club legend Gerard Moreno. The Catalan forward picked up the award in both the 2019/20 season (18 goals) and the historic 2020/21 campaign (23 goals).
Only Diego Forlán (25), Gerard Moreno (23), and Alexander Sorloth (23) have scored more goals than Ayoze Pérez in a single LALIGA season for Villarreal.
