The Canarian striker is the joint top goalscorer in the Primera RFEF with nine goals, alongside Miku and Álvaro Romero
Juan Carlos Arana is in great form! The Canarian forward has shown that he is a real fox in the box during the 18 games of the current demanding Primera RFEF season. After adding two more goals to his record in the rearranged derby CD Castellón, the Mini Submarine’s striker has nine goals this season. This impressive goalscoring record in the Spanish third tier sees him at the top of goalscoring charts alongside Álvaro Romero, from Algeciras, one of Villarreal B’s rivals in Group 2; and Miku, from Deportivo, the current Group 1 leaders.
An impressive derby performance
CD Castellón went ahead in the postponed derby at the Mini Estadi, corresponding to Matchday 13. However, Miguel Álvarez’s side did not give in and the Canarian sharpshooter equalised before half-time thanks a great Migue Leal cross. After the break, he put the Mini Submarine in front, getting on the end of a loose ball on the box and firing a low shot past Álvaro Campos. “My first derby was great. I’ve been here for a number of years and I hadn’t been able to play in one. We’re really proud of what we’re achieving as a team,” said Arana after the win.
Goals that are worth points
In the matches where Arana has scored, Villarreal B have got almost 50% of the points that currently see them lead their Primera RFEF group (18 out of 37). The Mini Submarine have only lost one game in which he has scored. Here are the matches where he has found the back of the net:

- Betis Deportivo 1-2 Villarreal B: 1 goal
