The Villarreal centre midfielder will play against the USA and Panama on 11th and 15th November
The Submarine’s Mexican midfielder, Jonathan dos Santos, has received another call-up from his national team, this time to play in their first two Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying matches. The first qualifier will be against the USA on the 11th November in Ohio (12th November, 1:45am CET), while the second clash will be on 15th November in the Ciudad de Panamá (16th November, 3:05am CET) against Panama.
This is the first time Jonathan has been called up for this type of fixture since he made his debut against Colombia in 2009. In total, he has represented his country on 19 occasions, and the most important tournament he played in was in 2015, when México won the Gold Cup against Jamaica (1-3), in which he was a key figure by playing almost every minute of every match. The rest of his caps have been in friendly games.
