Villarreal B beat RCD Espanyol with a Lekovic goal and two fantastic Jorge Pascual strikes
Villarreal B floored the leaders (3-1). Miguel Álvarez’s team defeated Espanyol in their visit to the Estadio de la Cerámica. With a goal from Lekovic and two impressive goals from Jorge Pascual, the yellows put on an exhibition of football.
The team returned to the Estadio de la Cerámica after earning a valuable point against Levante UD (1-1) at the Ciutat de València. The Yellows wanted to emulate the achievement against another of the big guns of LALIGA Hypermotion.
Miguel Álvarez’s team started the game very well. Villarreal B played their best football in a memorable start to the game. First Del Moral and Ontiveros had two clear chances to show the Mini Submarine meant business.
So much so that before reaching the half-hour mark, the B team were already 2-0 up. Lekovic scored the first goal of the game with a low shot from a corner (m.13). Later, Jorge Pascual surprised everyone with a powerful left-footed shot from the edge of the area to make it 2-0.
Villarreal felt very comfortable on the pitch at La Cerámica and Espanyol could not find order or precision in their movement of the ball. They were completely stunned by the Mini Submarine’s blows.
However, shortly before the break, Puado woke up the visitors by pouncing on a ball that Espigares had blocked in the heart of the box to make it 2-1 and close the gap on the scoreboard at the Estadio de la Cerámica.
Espanyol came into the second half better, took a step forward and went in search of an equaliser. After several minutes defending at the back, Villarreal B reacted with solvency, replying with a fantastic goal from Jorge Pascual, who repeated in the other goal the fantastic goal he had already scored in the first half. A real barbarity to close out the game and give the Mini Submarine all three points.
