Villarreal B draw against Atlético Levante in an even match
An even match with a share of the points. Villarreal drew in a match without goals, in their visit to Atlético Levante in an even match. Álex Millán had the best chances for the B team, while Marc Vidal aso made a great save to deny former Yellow Pablo Íñiguez.
Miguel Álvarez lined up with a similar starting XI to that which got the win in their last match against Peña Deportiva. Instead of Filip Jorgensen (who had travelled with the first team) and Copete (suspended), Marc Vidal and Pereiro came in. The rest of the team were the same from the previous league outing.
The match was even from the start. The first good chance fell to the home side. Former Yellows defender Íñiguez’s effort from inside the box was saved fantastically by Vidal to keep the score at 0-0 (m.11).
The best chance for Villarreal B in the opening first half came from Millán, whose header hit the bar (m.23). The striker was a nightmare for goalkeer Picón and his defence all game.
It was the Levante B goalkeeper who made a great save to deny Millán at the start of the second half. The Mini Submarine’s captain shot from the edge of the box, forcing Picón into a great save.
The second half was tight as well. Juan Carlos Arana had a chance to score at the end for the Yellows, but it ended goalless.
