The Mini Submarine coach predicts a top-level clash against Real Murcia (Sunday, 8:30 p.m.)
Villarreal B head coach David Albelda spoke to V Play to preview the reserve team’s upcoming match against Real Murcia CF, corresponding to Matchday 26 of Group II in Primera Federación, which will be played this Sunday at 8:30 p.m. at the Mini Estadi.
Good run of form
“The team is on a good run. I think it’s nine matches unbeaten, with positive feelings, and we’d like to extend that streak. We’re taking it game by game. That’s what’s allowing us to be in a strong position in the standings. The idea is to stay on the same path, try to impose our style and our game, and remember that we’re playing at home. That’s how we’ll approach the match.”
An important week
“It’s an important but demanding week. Three matches in just seven days against three tough opponents, each with their own characteristics. It will be a complicated week, but at the same time we have to be excited, knowing we’re doing things well and that we’re in a good position in the table to look to the future with optimism.”
Maximum focus
“This unbeaten run and our position in the table can’t lead us into complacency. We must be aware of how difficult every match is. Only by understanding that difficulty and performing at our highest level will we be closer to success. If you relax, you can lose to anyone.”
Real Murcia CF
“Murcia have one of the strongest squads in the group. They were built to fight at the top and push for promotion, although it’s true they didn’t start well. In terms of squad, budget and club structure, we all know they have enormous potential. With the momentum we have and playing at home, we’ll try to use our strengths to get the result.”
The game plan
“First of all, defend well and maintain a high tempo. We’ll do what we’ve been doing every week. Our objectives are completely different. We’re focused on the development of our players, and if that comes with good results, even better.”
