The Villarreal B head coach analyses the Mini Submarine’s next opponent, Antequera CF (Sunday, 12.00pm)
Villarreal B head coach David Albelda spoke to the media this Friday ahead of the match against Antequera CF, corresponding to Matchday 9 of the Primera Federación, which will take place this Sunday at 12.00pm at the Mini Estadi at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground.
Becoming strong at home
“We’re still in the first third of the season, and there’s a long way to go. It’s true that we’re performing better at home than away, although we haven’t done badly on the road — we just haven’t been picking up points. We’ve visited tough grounds like Eldense and Elche, and while we’ve played good games there, the results haven’t come. Every match has its own story, but it’s true that at home we’ve been more solid.”
The next opponent: Antequera CF
“They have a solid base of players from last season. But regardless of the opponent, I see all matches as quite similar: well-prepared, balanced teams. To win, we have to show our best version, which means not giving anything away in the early stages and minimising mistakes.”
