Villarreal B assistant head coach David Cifuentes says that they need to build on the two draws away from home by winning at the Mini Estadi this Sunday
Villarreal B assistant head coach, David Cifuentes, appeared before the media today to analyse the upcoming match against Atlético Sanluqueño (Sunday, 5:30pm CEST). The coach wanted to start his press conference by sending a message of support to Miguel Álvarez, who was absent due to family matters.
David Cifuentes also assured that the team has a good feeling going into this game: ‘It’s been an unusual week due to the fact that Miguel hasn’t been here for the last few days, but I think it’s been very similar to working with him. We have prepared very well for this match, which we want to win to put us in a better position in the table and for the good work we do during the week to bear fruit in the match.”
For the assistant head coach, it’s time to get back to winning ways at home: ‘It’s time to build on the two draws by winning this Sunday at home against Atlético Sanluqueño, a team that has changed after the change of management ten days ago:”
However, he stressed that it won’t be easy to beat Atlético Sanluqueño: “We’re expecting a very tough game. Atlético Sanluqueño are a team that have a very good counter-attack. We are playing at the Mini Estadi again and we want to be strong. We’ll go out onto the pitch to get into the rhythm of the game, to play continuous football and not let it stop. We’ll try to make the game long, as we believe it will benefit us.”
Finally, David Cifuentes emphasised the tremendous equality that exists within the division, which is why Villarreal B will be looking for a victory that will allow them to consolidate their position in the top half.
